Uley and the Cotswolds
Uley is a small village, tucked away in the south west corner of the Cotswolds, providing a real escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and a great location from which to explore the AONB. There is a community shop, post office, cafe and pub all within easy walking distance of our property. Many footpaths and bridleways pass through the village, including the Cotswold Way long distance path.
If you enjoy walking, hiking, cycling or mountain biking, Uley makes a great base for your adventures. At the end of the day you can relax in the privacy of the hot tub or take advantage of one of the many local pubs and restaurants.
Ideally placed, Uley is convient for visiting Broadway, Bourton-on-the-water, Cheltenham, Chipping Campden, Cirencester, The Slaughters, Bibury and Stow-on-the-Wold, as well as the historic cities of Bath, Bristol and Gloucester. The Forest of Dean, one of England’s few remaining ancient forests, covering 27,000 acres of woodland is just a short drive away.
What 3 Words
On the photograph of the village at the top of this page, we have put a location marker by Underbury so that you can see where we are located. We have also included the 3 words: ///situates.bedding.unwraps This is our 'What 3 Words' address, and by clicking on it you will be able to see our exact location. In fact, the entire surface of the earth, sea and land, has been divided into 3m x 3m squares and each is identified by a unique combination of 3 words making it really easy to locate someone or something. We think it is really cool, and so do the UK emergency services, who now use the service as well. Check it out and get the app at: https://what3words.com
